About the team:

Investec Direct Lending (“IDL”) is a leading private debt manager focused on the lower mid-market, with over 3bn AUM and a 14+ year track record. The team specialises in senior-secured and flexible capital solutions across the UK and mainland Europe (Benelux and DACH), supporting both sponsor-backed and privately-owned businesses.

Private Credit Management (“PCM”) is a dedicated investment management function focused on proactive coverage of existing borrower relationships and managing the credit and operational risk of the portfolio. The team works closely with origination and broader Investec teams to deliver ongoing value, capital solutions, and strategic dialogue with clients.

This role sits within PCM and focuses on managing the DACH portfolio (~35 clients, 600m+ financing across 19 sponsors), supporting the continued growth of the platform and optimisation of capital and returns.

What will I be doing?

Managing and monitoring a portfolio of private credit investments across the DACH region, including performance, covenant compliance and risk identification

Supporting new money opportunities for existing borrowers, including add-ons, upsizes and proactive capital structure reviews

Building and maintaining relationships with C-Suite stakeholders to drive strategic engagement and identify growth opportunities

Collaborating with origination, credit, product, M&A and broader Investec teams to deliver integrated client solutions

Contributing to business development by supporting the ‘One Investec' strategy across products including PE coverage, FX and treasury

Supporting portfolio reviews, credit processes, amendments, waivers and restructuring scenarios where required

Operating within a robust risk and governance framework, actively identifying and escalating emerging risks

What do I need to bring?

Proven experience in lower/mid-market private debt investing or credit management

Strong knowledge of the DACH and wider European credit markets

Experience in credit underwriting, portfolio management and restructuring processes

Strong financial analysis and credit assessment capabilities

Experience negotiating credit agreements and managing stakeholders across complex transactions

Strong understanding of internal credit processes, governance and regulatory requirements

Fluency in both German and EnglishI am good at:

Analysing financial performance, identifying risks and delivering clear, actionable insights

Working collaboratively across teams to deliver client solutions

Managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
