Equity Research, Energy​/Oil & Gas, Senior Associate

The Team:

Our sector-based research teams analyse markets worldwide with a goal to be our clients’ first call for investment ideas, longer-term thematic pieces and industry expertise. Our research analysts use a variety of methodologies and sources including surveys, industry contacts and public documents, while benefiting from the perspectives of fellow Jefferies analysts following other industries, geographies and asset classes.

The Role:

We are keen to hire an Associate in the team to focus on the Integrated Oil & Gas sector. This will entail performing sector-specific and macro analysis to track and forecast commodity prices, and contributing to the analysis of thematic areas such as Energy Transition.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the lead analyst in the provision of fundamental research through the maintenance and development of multiple excel-based models

Support the Energy Research team with its goal of servicing institutional investors with sufficient intensity to drive vote capture

Contribute written work to the European Oil & Gas team’s thematic and stock-specific research

Assist the team in meeting client marketing and corporate access requirements

Support colleagues in adjacent fields, such as Investment Banking and Corporate Broking

Qualifications:

A suitable record of academic achievement and experience in a transferable role. Industry technical and/or commercial energy valuation experience would be advantageous

Sector experience is not a prerequisite, but an interest in the energy sector is integral Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal

Knowledge of the financial markets, solid understanding of financial statements and advanced financial modeling capability
