new role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will join a small, high-performing finance team and play a key role in the financial planning, reporting and analysis of underwriting results across the business. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the production of quarterly US GAAP underwriting results and outlook commentary.
  • Preparing balance sheet analysis and financial performance commentary.
  • Assisting with annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Contributing to UK and international GAAP management reporting and board reporting packs.
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Performing financial reviews and assessments of insurance intermediaries.
  • Producing insightful MI and financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
  • Supporting a range of ad hoc projects and business initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with previous experience within the insurance or reinsurance sector. You will possess strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent analytical skills, alongside advanced Excel capabilities, including experience using Pivot Tables, XLOOKUPs, SUMIFS and ideally Power Query. A background in practice or financial reporting would be highly advantageous, as would knowledge of the Lloyd's or London Market environment.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business are essential.
