Our Clean Energy infrastructure team makes direct equity investments in carbon-reducing renewable energy power generation, from late-stage development through to commercial operations. Capital Dynamics is one of the largest UK onshore wind operators and has invested in one of the largest subsidy-free solar PV portfolios in Europe, achieving enhanced value from projects through our dedicated asset management affiliate, Netro Energy Limited.
THE OPPORTUNITY:This is a rare opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, high-growth clean energy platform in the role of Vice President, Clean Energy - working alongside an experienced leadership team to help shape the business's next phase of growth. Reporting to a Senior Managing Director, you will build, manage, and operate the financial models that underpin the team's investment decisions, and lead work streams through the due diligence phase of a deal - with a particular focus on opportunities in the Spanish, Italian, German and broader European markets.
You will develop valuable relationships with companies, financiers and other partners across the renewables space, while contributing to ongoing valuations, investor reporting, capital raising and the asset management of our current portfolio. Ideally, you will also bring experience leading or mentoring junior colleagues at Analyst or Associate level.
WHAT SETS A STRONG CANDIDATE APART:We're looking for a Vice President with genuine buy-side pedigree, not purely advisory or sell-side experience. Specifically, we're keen to see:
- Prior experience at a private equity firm, infrastructure fund, or similar buy-side asset management platform.
- An existing network of developers, financiers, and industry contacts you can draw on to originate new opportunities - not just execute on deals someone else has sourced.
- Genuine comfort leading a deal cycle end-to-end - from origination and negotiation through to due diligence and closing - rather than supporting one led by others.
- Proven experience working on asset-level investments - not just portfolio acquisitions.
You must be fluent in English, plus one of German, Spanish, Polish or a Nordic Language (Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish)
Our Clean Energy portfolio spans Spanish, German and Wider European markets, so this is a genuine day-to-day requirement - candidates who don't meet it won't be able to progress.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead transaction work streams, including due diligence and negotiation with developers and partners.
- Participate in and support the team's deal origination - bringing your own network and relationships to bear.
- Own the management of financial models, with in-depth knowledge of financial modelling to calculate project returns.
- Take responsibility for drafting investment papers, providing the Investment Committee with clear analysis of financial performance and investment rationale.
- Represent the team at meetings, conferences and internal discussions.
- Lead high-level negotiations with relevant counter parties on transactions, both pre- and post-acquisition.
- Perform sensitivity analysis to appraise projects and assess performance under different scenarios.
- Present financial models to investors, clearly communicating projected returns.
- Compile quarterly reports for debt financiers and investors, including calculation of covenant ratios.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets for project entities.
- Respond to investor requests in a timely manner, providing appropriate documentation.

- A demonstrable track record in Clean Energy Infrastructure / Renewable Energy, BESS/Battery Storage and/or Data Centre deals in Europe, with strong knowledge of the Spanish, Italian, German or broader European markets - Poland, Ireland and the Nordic Countries.
- Buy-side experience - at a private equity firm, infrastructure fund, or similar developer / asset management platform - with a proven deal-sourcing network you can put to work.
- Demonstrated experience leading deal cycles end-to-end, including negotiation with developers, financiers and other counter parties.
- Good general understanding of accounting, finance, company valuation and, ideally, asset management.
- Extensive practical working knowledge of financial modelling, including modelling of debt financing.
- Good understanding of financial methodologies - leveraged buyout, forecast analysis, financial statement analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of financial analysis ratios such as yield, IRR and NPV.
- Good working knowledge of the support frameworks for renewables investments.
- Comfortable using AI tools and large language models to accelerate research, first-pass analysis and document drafting, with sound judgement on where human review is essential.
