The TeamKPMG’s Debt Advisory practice is a part of KPMG’s Corporate Finance division and has an over 25 year history of providing independent capital structure and debt financing advice to borrowers on developing and executing debt financing strategies. The team’s typical clients include listed companies, medium to large privately owned businesses and private equity / sponsor-backed entities. The team operates across two core verticals focusing on ‘Corporates’ and ‘Leveraged Finance’ The Corporates vertical advises both on standalone financings as well as part of multi-disciplinary transactions alongside other parts of the firm and/or in support of KPMG’s wider client base.
Its experience spans the spectrum of debt markets, financing instruments, asset classes, sectors and situations (including M&A, investment, new debt issues, refinancing and restructuring / amendments to debt facilities). It operates across all sectors and also has experience in specialist financing markets in infrastructure, energy, financial services and real estate.

The Role
Roles & Responsibilities Building on KPMG’s existing platform, the primary objective of the role will be to drive profitable and diversified growth in the ‘Corporates’ Debt Advisory practice.
The primary responsibility for this role will be to lead the Debt Advisory team’s ‘Corporates’ strategy, including providing specialist debt advice in relation to:
Financing strategy development and options evaluation to enable corporates to access the debt markets to deliver strategic business plans Executing new or (re) financing transactions, supporting corporates to raise financing on competitive, flexible terms to support growth, including accessing new markets and/or lenders;
Executing financing and/or amending facilities to support M&A and other corporate transactional or restructuring activity to support strategic change;
Providing other capital structure or debt financing advice or relevant financing stakeholder management assistance as part of multi-disciplinary teams in support of wider corporate or transactional activity where the provision of such advice is relevant to its execution.
The role will involve working closely with debt advisory, M&A, Advisory or other firm-wide colleagues, in originating and executing debt advisory mandates, from client opportunity development to strategic formulation to successful transaction completion.
This will also involve participating in relationship management with clients, sponsors and other multipliers, in addition to leveraging wider firm client relationship managers or capability / sector teams to originate new business opportunities. It is expected that typical clients would comprise mid-market to larger businesses, consistent with KPMG’s client base.
The role will have a national remit to support clients across the United Kingdom, which may also include cross-border transactions or international flows of capital (largely to/from the UK market). The role represents an ideal opportunity for candidates to take on leadership of this ‘Corporates’ strategy, alongside other senior debt advisory leaders, to drive the growth in this business and capture the significant market potential for such services with KPMG’s target client base.
This will also form a key growth pillar of the wider Corporate Finance growth strategy and ambition where debt advisory capability and relationships may support wider competitiveness and synergy.
Leadership of the ‘Corporates’ Debt Advisory service offering;
Business development:
Play a key role in furthering KPMG’s debt advisory market presence, leveraging relationships, internal and external multipliers, and lender communities, and supporting business development activity across the team and wider firm;
Deal origination:
Leading the charge on developing deal flow, using a network of relevant and high-level contacts (internal and external) to help originate debt advisory mandates both on a standalone basis and/or…
