Indirect Tax Manager

I am currently partnering with one of our longstanding Law Firm clients with the search for an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join its finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of global indirect tax compliance and advisory matters within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee indirect tax compliance obligations across multiple international jurisdictions. Review and coordinate the preparation and submission of VAT and related indirect tax returns. Provide practical and commercial VAT advice to stakeholders across the business. Act as the primary point of contact for indirect tax matters, supporting operational and finance teams. Liaise with overseas finance teams and external advisers to ensure accurate and timely compliance.

Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the business. Develop, maintain and enhance indirect tax policies, procedures and guidance documentation. Support process improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening controls and increasing efficiency. Partner with finance and systems teams to improve the accuracy of indirect tax treatment within business processes and financial systems. Assist with tax audits, enquiries and other interactions with tax authorities where required.

Key requirements:

Strong experience in UK VAT compliance, including preparation, review and oversight of statutory filings. Proven experience providing VAT advisory support within a corporate, professional services or accountancy environment. Good understanding of international VAT and indirect tax principles. Relevant professional qualification such as CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent experience. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience working with financial systems and improving tax-related processes would be advantageous.
