Assistant Management Accountant – Cost & Reporting
Location:
Central London / 2 days WFH Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 study support & discretionary bonus Type:
Permanent We are looking for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant to join the finance team in a broad cost and management reporting role. You will work closely with budget holders and finance colleagues, monitoring costs, producing management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and helping the business understand performance against plan. This role would suit an ambitious accountant looking to develop their commercial finance and business partnering experience.
Key Responsibilities Monitor expenditure across multiple cost centres and ensure accurate cost allocation. Prepare cost centre reports and analyse actuals against budget and forecast. Investigate variances and explain key cost drivers. Partner with budget holders to review expenditure and improve cost control. Support annual budgets, forecasts and month-end accounting, including accruals and prepayments. Produce management reports for finance and operational stakeholders.
Support the procure-to-pay process, including POs, goods receipts and supplier costs. Review outstanding commitments and ensure they are reflected in forecasts. Maintain accurate financial information within SAP. Support reporting improvements and ad hoc finance projects. Candidate Profile The successful candidate is likely to have:
Part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent. Experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, Cost Accountant or similar role. Strong cost centre accounting and variance analysis experience. Experience working with budget holders and supporting budgets and forecasts. Understanding of procure-to-pay processes, including POs and goods receipts. Previous SAP experience. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Good communication skills and a proactive, commercially minded approach.
