My client a boutique law firm in Central London are currently looking for a permanent Legal Cashier to join their team. This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager and will be focussed on legal cashiering as well as purchase ledger, WIP write offs etc.
- Processing client account payments and receipts.
- Managing client-to-office and office-to-client account transfers.
- Completing daily bank reconciliations.
- Administering designated deposit accounts.
- Calculating and processing client interest.
Additional Finance Duties
- Processing Counsel and expert fee invoices.
- Handling Land Registry, court fee and other matter-related transactions.
- Monitoring and reporting residual client balances.
- Managing file and deed archiving.
- Responding to fee earner queries.
- Supporting ad hoc projects for the Finance Director and Finance Manager.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential
- Previous legal cashiering experience
- Strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills.
- Strong communication skills across all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight month-end and year-end deadlines.
- Self-motivated team player who can work independently.
Desirable
- Experience using P4W Accounts or a similar legal finance system.
- ILFM qualification or other accounting qualification.
- Experience improving finance processes.
- Positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach.
The role is 3 days in the office and 9.30am-5.30pm
