We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
Relationship Manager
-Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFI).
Through Business Banking (BB) our global network offers comprehensive support and services to businesses in the SME market. From expanding overseas to managing the cash and trade flows of an established enterprise, the Business Banking team of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists provides a range of end-to-end solutions designed to help small businesses reach their potential.
Within our specialist team you will manage and build a portfolio of higher risk customers who are designated NBFIs, primarily covering a region in the South of England. You will interact and engage with key risk departments and stakeholders within the bank as financial crime and credit risk assessment is a fundamental element of the role.

In this role you’ll:
- Manage an existing portfolio of higher risk existing customers who are designated NBFIs in the region
- Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand a portfolio and broadening client relationships, leveraging HSBC's extensive network
- Drive revenue growth through understanding customer needs, adopting a needs-based approach which engages clients and increases new business
- Build an understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes
- Deepen understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews
- Manage financial crime risk, AML and reputational risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk
- Engage with network colleagues and customers who approach HBUK taking new to bank customers as appropriate, providing dedicated relationship management with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational risk
- Adhere to structures and processes for the management of credit, operational, reputation, financial crime and regulatory risk
- Grow the business through targeted sales programs which include the acquisition of new customers, lending and switcher activity
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- A good knowledge of Commercial Banking services and products and systems
- Experience in a relevant environment, i.e. Business Banking, with proven sales/revenue growth skills
- Experience gained within credit and exposure to NBFI’s would be advantageous (not essential)
- Well-developed planning and organisation skills, with ability to drive through results
