Job Description

Role:

Location: London

About Westpac: Westpac is Australia's oldest bank and one of the country's leading financial institutions. Through Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB), we provide specialist banking, markets and capital markets services to corporate, institutional and government clients globally.

Our London office is a key international hub, working closely with teams across Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. The business plays an important role in supporting cross border funding, investor access and international capital markets activity for clients across the UK, Europe and Australia.

How will I help?

As an Associate Director within the International Energy, Infrastructure & Resources (EIR) team, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of corporate and institutional clients across the UK, Europe and, from time to time, North America.

Reporting to the Head of EIR International, you will play a key role in delivering the full range of Westpac's wholesale banking products and services to clients across the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors. You will work closely with Product, Risk and Capital Markets teams to originate new business opportunities, deepen client relationships and support the continued growth of Westpac's international EIR franchise.

The role combines relationship management, business development, transaction origination and portfolio management, while maintaining Westpac's high standards in credit assessment, exposure management and risk governance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of EIR clients across the UK, Europe and selected international markets.
  • Build trusted adviser relationships with senior client stakeholders including CFOs, Treasurers and executive leadership teams.
  • Identify, originate and execute new business opportunities across lending, transaction banking, capital markets and risk management solutions.
  • Coordinate internal product partners to deliver tailored client outcomes and achieve strong cross sell performance.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives across the International EIR business.
  • Maintain responsibility for portfolio management activities including credit quality, risk assessment, monitoring and exposure management.
  • Lead transaction execution and credit processes, ensuring appropriate governance and timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Coverage, Financial Markets, Debt Products, Credit Risk and other key functions.
  • Contribute sector insights and market intelligence to support business development and client engagement activities.

What's in it for me?

This is an opportunity to join a high performing international banking franchise with a strong presence across the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors. You'll work with leading corporate clients, infrastructure sponsors and institutional counter parties while helping shape the growth of Westpac's international EIR business.

You'll gain exposure to complex and high profile transactions, collaborate with senior stakeholders across global teams and play a meaningful role in building long term client relationships across key international markets.

You'll also benefit from:

  • Exposure to senior leaders across Relationship Management, Credit Risk, Financial Markets and Capital Markets.
  • Opportunities to lead client engagements and contribute to significant financing transactions.
  • A collaborative and high performing international team environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and career…
