Vice President, TM Detection Solution Design

• Acquire and collect data from internal databases, external datasets, and real-time feeds
• Clean and pre-process data to ensure quality and suitability for model development
• Design and implement data management strategies for model maintenance and future development
• Design, develop, and implement statistical and machine learning models for credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and marketing optimisation
• Monitor model performance in real time and identify potential issues or biases
• Lead training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions to uplift ML capability across the organisation
• Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to support AI innovation
• Design, develop, and implement next-generation Transaction Monitoring solutions
• Contribute to the evolution of the Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring framework
• Drive innovation, optimisation, and enhanced detection capabilities through modern surveillance technologies
• Advise key stakeholders and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment
• Manage and mitigate risks in support of control and governance objectives
• Collaborate across Barclays UK and Barclays International businesses and jurisdictions
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Guide technical direction, lead collaborative assignments, and coach less experienced specialists

• Experience implementing, optimising, and tuning TM systems or similar financial crime controls
• Experience working in a regulated business environment with governance, control, and risk management exposure
• Adherence to action, escalation, and oversight procedures
• Experience leveraging analytical and technical tools for data exploration, analysis, visualisation, and solution development
• Knowledge of products across Retail, corporate, investment, and private banking business lines in the context of financial crime risk management
• Experience coding in SQL, Scala, Spark, Python, etc. valued
• Appreciation of financial crime, AML, and transaction monitoring/detection systems and processes
• Knowledge of AML and terrorist financing trends and typologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Record of building relationships and engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders across functions
• Skills in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills

Demonstrates expertise in designing and implementing statistical and machine learning models for financial crime risk management, including transaction monitoring and fraud detection. Proficient in data management strategies and risk mitigation within regulated environments.
