We are working with an established international bank that is looking to appoint an experienced Relationship Manager to join its Commercial Banking team.
The role will focus on managing and developing a portfolio of SME and Commercial Banking clients, combining relationship management, credit and lending responsibilities with new business development.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities and delivering appropriate banking and lending solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a portfolio of SME and Commercial Banking clients
- Build strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Identify and originate new business opportunities
- Grow lending, deposits and overall portfolio revenues
- Understand client requirements and structure appropriate banking solutions
- Prepare and submit credit proposals for new and existing facilities
- Analyse financial accounts, cash flows and other supporting information
- Manage credit renewals and monitor existing lending facilities
- Develop relationships with introducers and professional intermediaries
- Identify opportunities across lending, deposits, Trade Finance, FX and other banking products
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify potential credit concerns or early warning signs
- Work closely with Credit, Risk, Operations and other internal stakeholders
- Strong experience in Commercial Real Estate and Buy-to-Let lending is essential, including the assessment and management of property-backed lending facilities.
- Previous Relationship Management experience within a bank
- Strong background in SME, Commercial or Business Banking
- Good understanding of lending and credit
- Experience managing and developing a portfolio of clients
- Ability to understand financial accounts and contribute to credit proposals
- Strong business development and client relationship skills
- Experience of secured or property-backed lending would be advantageous
- Exposure to intermediary, HNW or international/non-resident clients would be beneficial
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
