Associate, Investment Banking M&A (Industrials)

A leading independent investment banking advisory firm is seeking an Associate to join its high-performing Industrials team in London. This is an opportunity to work alongside senior bankers on complex cross-border M&A transactions, strategic advisory assignments, and capital raising mandates for a diverse range of corporate and private equity clients across the industrials landscape.
The team advises clients across a broad range of subsectors including industrial technology, transportation & logistics, business services, manufacturing, aerospace & defence, and wider industrial value chains throughout Europe and internationally.
Key Responsibilities- Support the execution of M&A transactions from origination through to completion, including buy-side, sell-side and strategic advisory mandates.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, merger models and transaction materials.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations and board materials.
- Conduct industry, company and market research across the industrials sector to identify trends, opportunities and potential transaction candidates.
- Manage due diligence processes and coordinate with clients, lawyers, accountants and other advisers throughout live transactions.
- Mentor and support junior team members, including Analysts, while contributing to overall team development.
- 3-5 years of investment banking M&A experience gained within a Bulge Bracket bank, Elite Boutique or leading independent advisory firm.
- Strong transaction execution experience across M&A advisory engagements.
- Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent understanding of corporate finance, accounting and transaction processes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Prior exposure to Industrials, Business Services, Transportation & Logistics, Infrastructure Services or related sectors is advantageous.
- Exposure to high-profile European and international M&A transactions.
