This is a high-profile opportunity for an experienced reserving actuary to take ownership of the reserving function across a diverse specialty portfolio. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across underwriting, finance and executive leadership, providing insight that directly influences business decisions and portfolio strategy.
The role offers a blend of technical reserving work, stakeholder management and team leadership, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their influence within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the quarterly reserving process across multiple Lloyd's and London Market classes.
- Review reserve analyses, recommend appropriate booking levels and present results to senior management.
- Own reserving governance, documentation and validation processes.
- Provide reserving insights to underwriting teams, identifying trends, emerging risks and areas of opportunity.
- Support regulatory reporting, audit requirements and Solvency UK deliverables.
- Partner closely with Finance on financial reporting and business planning activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives within the reserving function.
- Manage and develop more junior actuarial team members.
- Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to wider actuarial and strategic projects across the business.
- FIA qualified (or equivalent).
- Strong reserving experience within the Lloyd's and/or London Market.
- Comfortable leading reserve reviews and communicating recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing projects and, ideally, mentoring or managing junior actuarial team members.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
- Commercial mindset with an ability to translate technical findings into actionable business insight.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
