Location: Greater London
- Provide valuation, Profit & Loss (P&L), risk measurement, monitoring, and reporting across key trading activities
- Assess and explain drivers of P&L, positions, exposures, and associated risks
- Ensure outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with risk frameworks, policies, limits, and controls
- Work with Front Office, Market Risk, Senior Management, and wider business stakeholders
- Provide analysis and commentary and escalation key risks or limit breaches
- Offer practical risk advice to support informed business decisions
- Strengthen the Product Control function through continuous improvement and automation
- Develop effective tools and processes using Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python
- Support onboarding of new products, instruments, markets, and trading activities
- Perform valuation and methodology verification
- Contribute to business-wide projects and risk initiatives
- Experience in Product Control, Market Risk, or a similar middle-office function
- Strong understanding of risk measurement, P&L reporting, attribution, and trade valuations
- Experience or exposure to Gas & Power Trading, Sales, or Flow environments
- Solid understanding of energy markets, trading activities, and associated risk factors
- Strong foundation in financial products and trading businesses, including commodities and derivatives such as FX, Futures, and Swaps
- Ability to understand and assess valuation and risk drivers
- Experience in one or more of Excel/VBA, SQL/SSIS, Python, or Power BI
- Exposure to ETRMs or other trading and risk management systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to translate complex quantitative concepts into clear, commercially relevant insights
- Ability to deliver high-quality solutions within tight deadlines
Demonstrates expertise in valuation, P&L reporting, and risk measurement within trading activities, utilizing advanced analytical skills and tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python to support informed business decisions and enhance product control functions.
