About the programme:
The Deutsche Bank 9 week Summer Internship Programme is designed to help you develop your skills through formal training and continuous support. You’ll quickly gain the confidence to take on real projects by learning first‑hand how and what we deliver for clients worldwide. About the division:
Our Investment Banking & Capital Markets (IBCM) business provides the full range of advisory and financing products and services of a leading global investment bank. Our clients include large‑cap and mid‑cap corporates, financial institutions, governments, government agencies and financial sponsors. We recognize that selecting the right investment banking partner can be the key to a company’s success. Our relationships are enhanced by industry sector, country and regional expertise, closely aligned to high‑quality client solutions.
We offer both buyside and sellside advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, restructuring advisory, debt and equity capital raising services (including our dedicated Environmental Social Governance (ESG) solutions) and structured equity transactions. We advise on innovative cross‑border and regional transactions in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
About the role:
Our interns are given the opportunity to learn about our business from different viewpoints, giving you a career advantage. Working on our day‑to‑day business as well as on special projects, you will contribute to the innovation of new ideas to help our customers achieve their financial goals. You will gain experience in different areas of our business and discover our market‑leading solutions firsthand.
Your day‑to‑day tasks may vary depending on your business area, but intern responsibilities may include:
Monitoring capital market activity, trends and investor sentiment as well as performing in‑depth company analysis on specific situations Supporting the execution of client advisory and financial transactions while managing multiple projects with rigid and, at times, global timelines Preparing marketing materials and transaction documentation, including but not limited to pitch books, corporate and investor profiles, and analysis Conducting detailed financial analysis, market data and transaction details to identify appropriate comparables and contribute to the development of pricing recommendations for new issuances.
Developing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales, research, and legal teams, as well as external parties such as investors and legal counsel Gaining an in‑depth understanding of the products and services offered and their application to client needs
Areas in which you could work within Capital Markets:‒ Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), Strategic Equity Transactions Group (SETG), Equity Distribution (EQD), Corporate Private Solutions Group (CPS)
What we look for:
We recruit students and graduates who have: a strong foundational knowledge and interest in global capital markets, corporate finance, macroeconomics and accounting confident, constructive and effective communication skills strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and contribute to day‑to‑day client relationships an ability to solve problems, organize tasks and manage multiple projects with demanding timelines strong attention to detail and accuracy an interest and ability to work collaboratively across the Deutsche Bank platform and global teams in support of our clients A financial background isn’t required.
