The company is a fast-growing direct-to-consumer (D2C) consumer products startup, building a brand that customers love through innovative products, a strong digital presence, and data-driven decision-making. As the business scales, it is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to strengthen the finance function and support strategic growth.
The RoleThe Management Accountant will play a key role at the heart of the business, combining core accounting responsibilities with commercial insight. The successful candidate will take ownership of the monthly management accounts, enhance financial processes, and partner with teams across marketing, operations, and supply chain to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Control- Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Delivery of variance analysis with clear commentary on business performance
- Maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations and strong financial controls
- Support of year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation
- Partnering with marketing to analyse campaign performance (CAC, ROAS, LTV)
- Providing margin analysis across products, channels, and geographies
- Supporting pricing, promotions, and inventory decisions with data-driven insights
- Building and maintaining financial models to support growth initiatives
- Monitoring inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and supply chain costs
- Improving processes around stock accounting and cash flow management
- Supporting finance systems improvements (e.g. ERP, reporting tools, automation)
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or nearing completion)
- 3–5+ years’ experience in a management accounting or similar role
- Experience in D2C, e-commerce, retail, or consumer products is highly desirable
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
- Commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
- Experience with tools such as Xero, Shopify, or similar is advantageous
- Salary up to £55,000 plus bonus
