Portfolio & Asset Management, Financial Analyst
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join a global real estate investment business in London, supporting the asset management of a diversified international property portfolio.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an asset management role, not an acquisitions or deal team position.
The role focuses on actively managing existing investments, working with operating partners to drive business plans, assess performance and identify risks and opportunities across the investment lifecycle.
The diversified portfolio spans multiple geographies, sectors and investment structures. Working closely with the Director of Asset Management, you will have significant exposure to operating partners and senior stakeholders.
This is an opportunity for a strong analytical candidate to build broad experience and develop their career in institutional real estate asset management.
Key responsibilities:You will take meaningful ownership of the day-to-day analytical and coordination work across a portfolio of real estate investments, including:
- Supporting the delivery of investment business plans and maintaining regular engagement with operating partners.
- Analysing business plans and quarterly reporting across underwriting, leasing, capex, financing, ESG and hold-sell assumptions.
- Reviewing and maintaining property and corporate cash-flow models covering debt, mezzanine and equity structures, including waterfall distributions.
- Monitoring investment performance against plan and identifying emerging risks, opportunities and areas requiring action.
- Turning detailed analysis into clear conclusions and recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Preparing business plan commentary, hold-sell analysis, approval papers and other decision-ready materials.
- Producing portfolio and investment performance analysis for senior management, board and investment committee reporting.
- Supporting refinancing, capital planning, governance and exit-readiness processes across existing investments.
- Assessing the quality and effectiveness of operating partners, including reporting, governance, responsiveness and execution against agreed plans.
- Supporting responsible investment and ESG priorities across the portfolio.
- Working across multiple international markets, with some overseas travel.
The role may provide occasional exposure to prospective partnerships and new opportunities, but the core responsibility is the active asset management and oversight of existing investments rather than originating or executing new transactions.
Key requirements:We are looking for someone with approximately 4–8 years of relevant experience in real estate asset management, investment or private equity who combines strong technical skills with commercial judgement.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong real estate financial modelling, underwriting and performance analysis skills.
- Experience interrogating third-party business plans, models and reporting rather than simply accepting reported outputs.
- A good understanding of property-level cash flows, financing structures and investment returns.
- Knowledge of the key operating and financial performance indicators relevant to commercial real estate.
- An understanding of accounting, corporate finance and investment principles relevant to real estate portfolios and joint ventures.
- The ability to identify the key issue within complex information and translate analysis into concise recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple investments and work streams simultaneously.
- Confidence working with external operating partners and senior internal stakeholders.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to contribute to board and investment committee-quality materials.
- A proactive, collaborative working style with sound judgement and a high degree of integrity.
- A recognised professional or postgraduate property qualification is strongly preferred.
Due to the expected level of interest, we may not be able to respond to every application individually. We will contact candidates whose experience is most closely aligned with the brief.
We are committed to equal opportunity and do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy/maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
