Our client is a leading middle-market private equity fund with a strong track record of investing across a broad range of sectors throughout the UK and Europe. The team is seeking an Associate to support the evaluation, execution, and management of investments across a diversified portfolio.
This is a generalist investment role offering exposure to the full deal lifecycle, working closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate new investment opportunities across a range of sectors and business models
- Build and review detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and investment materials
- Conduct commercial, financial, and operational due diligence alongside external advisors
- Participate in transaction execution, including structuring, negotiations, financing processes, and documentation
- Prepare investment committee presentations and supporting materials
- Monitor existing portfolio investments and assist with value creation initiatives
- Support portfolio company management teams on strategic projects, acquisitions, refinancing initiatives, and operational improvements
- Conduct market research and sector analysis to identify attractive investment themes
- Assist with exit processes, including trade sales, sponsor-to-sponsor transactions, and public market exits
- 2–5 years of experience within Investment Banking (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or Industry Coverage), Private Equity, Transaction Services, or a related investment environment
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
- Experience working on live M&A and financing transactions
- Excellent commercial judgement and attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interest in investing and private equity
- Exposure to a broad range of transactions across multiple sectors
- Significant responsibility and direct interaction with senior investment professionals
