The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Manager to join EY’s specialist Private Tax team in London. We’re seeking an individual with a strong technical foundation, proven relationship-building skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Our Private Tax team works with a broad range of entrepreneurial, owner-managed, PE-backed, and AIM-listed businesses, as well as their shareholders, family offices, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, private equity clients, and professional partnerships.

We act as trusted advisers, delivering comprehensive tax advisory services that include:

Tax-efficient value extraction and creation

Reorganisations and transactions

International tax advisory

Ongoing maintenance of client tax structures

Our services span compliance, residence and domicile issues, wealth optimisation, and estate and succession planning. With a diverse UK and non-UK domiciled client base, we frequently provide cross-border tax support through EY’s international network.

Key Responsibilities Build and maintain strong client relationships

Drive business development and identify new opportunities

Manage the delivery of complex and demanding tax consulting projects

Ensure technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach

Supervise, coach, and mentor junior team members

Contribute to team initiatives, including training, retention, and development

Skills and Attributes for Success Client-focused with strong strategic and commercial awareness

Excellent tax technical expertise

Proven relationship management and communication skills (written and verbal)
Confident negotiator, able to articulate and defend opinions effectively

Demonstrated business development experience

Strong time management and ability to perform under pressure

Project management skills with a focus on delivery and budget control

Experience advising a range of clients (AIM-listed, PE-backed, family-owned, and OMBs)
Creative and pragmatic problem-solver

Ideally, You’ll Also HaveACA / CTA / Tax Inspectors qualification (with full technical training), Law qualification, or equivalent tax specialist qualification

Strong tax technical and business development skills

Experience coaching and developing junior staff
