Global Compliance Reporting (“GCR”) US is a London based team dedicated to delivering the highest quality US tax services to market‑leading EMEIA based Wealth Asset Management clients. We provide comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the EMEIA asset management industry. You would join our growing team of 50+ tax professionals from all around the world who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of hedge fund, private equity fund, real estate fund, credit fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax minimization planning, on‑call advice, and tax compliance.

For this opportunity, we are looking for an experienced Hedge Fund Tax Manager to join our team!

The role will primarily involve overseeing hedge fund US tax compliance engagements for clients with appropriate consideration of risk, operational, and tax technical issues. Researching US tax legislation and explaining the impact to asset management clients will be required as part of contributing to tax consulting projects. You will be working in a dynamic environment catering to business needs and be expected to coach junior staff members (both onshore and offshore), and share your knowledge and experience with the team.

You will also be expected to coordinate multiple engagement teams’ schedules and deadlines.

• Maintain a strong understanding of commerciality.
• Proficiency in securities analysis for non-475 funds, including wash sales, straddles, debt, swaps, and other analysis required to compute a hedge fund’s US taxable income.
• Ability to resolve technical issues and ad-hoc advisory queries.
• Practical understanding of hedge fund partnership allocations including revaluation accounts/aggregation.
• Extensive working knowledge covering 475 funds, including preparation and review of tax capital allocations.
• Experience advising clients on the US tax impact of various trading strategies and fund structures, as well as US tax elections.

• US CPA license or Enrolled Agent license.
• Knowledge of corporate and international tax returns and related US tax laws.
• Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing partnership tax returns and Schedules K-1/3.
• Understanding of risk management.
• Practical experience with hedge fund securities analysis and allocations.
• In-depth knowledge of Go Systems tax preparation software or similar system.
