London Job Type: Full-time Salary: £70-80k A leading management consultancy is looking to recruit a Financial Controller to support the Financial Director in leading the finance function. This is not a senior role and would suit someone who is looking to make the step up into their first Controller role. With approximately 4-5 years' post-qualified experience, the ideal candidate will combine financial control, management reporting, team leadership, and process improvement.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, ensure robust financial controls, and provide high-quality financial information to support decision-making across the business. Day-to-day of the role:
Financial Control & Reporting :
Lead the month-end close process, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, manage revenue recognition, and support statutory accounts preparation and audits. Management Information :
Produce and analyse monthly management accounts, develop KPI reporting, and assist in preparing reports for the Board and Directors. Working Capital & Cashflow :
Oversee credit control and debtor collection activities, monitor WIP conversion, and maintain strong cash controls. Budgeting & Forecasting :
Assist with budgeting and forecasting, prepare budget reports for managers, and monitor performance against budgets. Systems & Process Improvement :
Support the development of financial systems enhance financial processes and ensure data integrity. Team Leadership :
Provide leadership to the finance operations team, coach team members, and promote best practices. Governance & Compliance :
Maintain strong internal controls, support compliance with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements, and assist with audits. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, with significant relevant experience. Strong experience in financial control, management reporting, and team management. Advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities. Proven ability to manage deadlines and attention to detail. Desirable:

Experience with ERP systems, and knowledge of revenue recognition and project accounting. Benefits:
