About the role:

The Finance Business Partner (Cost) is a commercially focused role within Oritain's FP&A function, reporting to the FP&A Lead. You will be responsible for leading financial partnering across our cost base, strengthening cost ownership and control, improving visibility of cost drivers and unit economics, and providing clear insight to support resource allocation, operational efficiency and sustainable growth.

This is a hands-on role that spans cost governance, technical accounting, forecasting and business partnering. You will work closely with functional and operational leaders across the business, building effective relationships, constructively challenging assumptions and translating financial and operational data into insight that drives better decisions.

• Support the financial governance framework for operating expenditure and Cost of Sales, including clear cost definitions, allocation principles, approval controls and accountability.
• Work with budget owners, procurement and finance operations to understand financial implications, commitments, risks and compliance with policy.
• Monitor spend, purchase commitments and accruals, ensuring costs are complete, accurately classified and reported in the correct period.
• Support corrective actions and continuous improvement in cost controls, reporting quality and process discipline.

• Support the application of accounting guidance on cost recognition, capital versus operating expenditure, accruals, prepayments, provisions and allocation methodology under relevant accounting standards.
• Help develop and maintain Cost of Sales and operating expenditure policies, playbooks and supporting documentation, ensuring consistent application across the business.
• Partner with accounting teams to support month-end close, balance sheet integrity, audit evidence and resolution of complex cost accounting matters.

• Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning for operating expenditure and Cost of Sales in partnership with functional and operational leaders.
• Build driver-based models linking headcount, supplier spend, activity volumes and delivery assumptions to financial outcomes.
• Analyse actuals, forecasts and variances, distinguishing timing effects from structural run-rate changes and emerging risks or opportunities.

• Build effective relationships with functional stakeholders, providing financial support and constructively challenging assumptions where appropriate.
• Analyse financial and operational data to provide actionable insight on spend efficiency, Cost to Serve, gross margin and unit economics.
• Support business cases, supplier decisions, operating model changes and strategic initiatives with robust financial analysis.
• Prepare concise management reporting, KPIs and dashboards that clarify cost drivers, accountability and required actions.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Relevant finance business partnering, management accounting or FP&A experience, with exposure to operating expenditure, Cost of Sales, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial controls, cost allocation and management reporting.
