Sales and Trading Internship

Institutional sales-and-trading internship covering client trading needs, multiple asset classes, finance fundamentals, quantitative reasoning, and relationship management.

This internship sits within Jane Street’s Institutional Sales and Trading business. Interns work alongside experienced salespeople and sales-traders to understand how the firm serves institutional clients across the asset classes it trades.

You will see the kinds of client inquiries the desk handles each day, how Jane Street works with existing clients, issuers, and prospective clients, and how trading knowledge is translated into useful communication and execution for institutional counter parties. The programme is fast-paced and includes internal classes covering broader finance and trading fundamentals.

• Students working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree who are entering or have completed their final year.
• Strong analytical and numerical reasoning.
• Clear communication, teamwork, reliability, and professional client-facing judgement.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• An entrepreneurial approach to solving problems and building relationships.
• Interest in learning SQL and/or Python.

Fluency in English is required, while Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, or German is considered useful. Jane Street provides flights to and from London and accommodation for the entire internship.
