Equity Associate – Financial Services

We are working with a Growth Equity investment firm in London that is looking to hire an Associate to join its Financial Institutions / Financial Services investment team.

Following a recent capital raise, the team is actively looking to deploy capital into high-growth, asset-light and technology-enabled Financial Services businesses across international markets.

The strategy focuses on businesses benefiting from the continued digitisation of financial services, including areas such as Fin Tech, payments, financial infrastructure, digital banking, Insur Tech, lending and wealth technology
.

The Associate will work across the full investment lifecycle, including:

• Identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities across Financial Services and Fin Tech
• Conducting detailed company, sector and market analysis
• Building and reviewing financial models, valuation analyses and investment return scenarios
• Assessing business models, growth drivers, unit economics and competitive positioning
• Supporting commercial, financial and operational due diligence
• Preparing investment committee materials and investment recommendations
• Working closely with management teams, advisers and other stakeholders throughout transaction processes
• Supporting portfolio companies on strategic initiatives, growth opportunities and value creation
• Monitoring existing investments and portfolio performance
• Developing investment theses across emerging themes within Financial Services

The team is looking for high-calibre candidates with approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience
, ideally from one of the following backgrounds:

• Tier 1 Investment Banking – FIG / Financial Institutions M&A
• Growth Equity or Private Equity
  , ideally with exposure to Financial Services, Fin Tech or technology-enabled businesses
• Strong transaction experience with excellent financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills

• Strong understanding of Financial Services business models
• Genuine interest in Fin Tech and technology-enabled financial businesses
• Ability to assess growth potential, competitive positioning and investment returns
• Excellent commercial judgement and intellectual curiosity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a small, entrepreneurial investment team
• International outlook and an interest in investing across multiple markets

The strategy primarily targets high-growth, asset-light Financial Services businesses where technology is driving structural change.
