Robert Half About the Role Robert Half is currently partnering with a business based in Cambridge to recruit a hands-on, detail-oriented Finance Manager on a part-time basis. Reporting directly to the Fractional Finance Director and Managing Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting operations, compliance, and month-end duties while leading a small administrative team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled finance professional seeking a flexible 20-hour working week with a collaborative local employer.

Key Responsibilities Day-to-Day Operations:
Monitor personal and departmental accounts inboxes, handle general accounting inquiries, and maintain bank control. Transactional & Reconciliations:
Post payment and receipt transactions to Sage 200, manage HSBC current, EUR, and USD bank reconciliations, and perform full balance sheet reconciliations. Credit Control & Cash Management:
Manage cash collections, maintain credit control, and refine overdue debt escalation processes. Payroll & Pensions:
Prepare monthly payroll via Sage Payroll, manage Aegon pension contributions, and arrange PAYE/NI and VAT payments to HMRC. Month-End & Stock Oversight:
Post month-end journals, review aged creditors, oversee the stock counting process, and report on slow-moving/obsolete inventory to executive leadership. Team Leadership & Support:
Line manage, mentor, and provide cover for the Operations & Finance Administrator and Sales Administrator. Process Improvement & Audit Support:
Assist the Finance Director with annual budgets and audit preparations, while proactively reviewing customer onboarding and credit processes. Key Requirements & Experience Strong hands-on accounting background, ideally with experience using Sage 200 and Sage Payroll . Proven track record handling transactional finance, month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and HMRC returns. Prior experience line managing or supervising direct reports. High level of commercial acumen with the ability to review and improve credit control and onboarding workflows.

Strong communication skills to manage queries across internal teams, external suppliers, and senior management. Working Pattern & Benefits

Schedule:

Flexible setup, with a preference for 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday. Competitive Pro-Rata Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 full-time equivalent, dependent on experience.
