Location: Greater London
The Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) leads and oversees the organization’s anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terroristfinancing (CTF) compliance framework, ensuring compliance with applicable UKand EU regulatory requirements. As the principal point of responsibility forAML, CTF and financial crime matters, the MLRO has the independence andauthority to identify, assess, escape, and report financial crime risks forthe UK and EU, and manage an AML team.
The MLRO partners with senior management, the Board, Legal, Compliance, and business teams to maintain an effective AML program, provide regulatory oversight, and promote a strong culture of compliance.
- Lead and maintain the organization’s AML and CTF framework across the UK and EU, ensuring policies, procedures, systems, and controlsremain current, effective, and aligned with applicable regulatory requirements
- Own and periodically update money laundering and terroristfinancing risk assessments; establish appropriate Know Your Customer (KYC),Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), PEP and sanctionsstandards
- Oversee ongoing monitoring and suspicious activitydetection, investigation, escalation, and reporting processes, includingdetermining when Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or other regulatory notifications are required
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators andlaw enforcement on AML matters and coordinate responses to regulatory examinations, inquiries, investigations, and information requests
- Regularly report material AML risks, issues, regulatory developments, control deficiencies, remediation activities, and overall programeffectiveness to senior management and the Board
- Monitor adherence to AML policies and controls and conductor oversee annual AML reviews and program testing, ensuring identifieddeficiencies are appropriately remediated
- Oversee AML training and awareness programs to ensure relevant employees, management, and stakeholders understand their responsibilities and maintain an appropriate culture of compliance
- Manage an AML team in the UK and the Netherlands and coordinate UK and EU AML activities, including delegated responsibilities,escalation processes, and jurisdiction-specific compliance requirements
- Ensure appropriate records of AML risk assessments, due diligence, investigations, regulatory filings, monitoring, testing, and compliance decisions are maintained in accordance with applicable requirements
