FID - eRates Strategist - Vice President Department Overview

The Fixed Income Division (FID) is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products, Securitized Products, and Municipal Securities. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader in energy, metals, and agricultural product trading worldwide whose professionals' trade in both physical and derivative commodity risk.

The role focuses on designing and implementing electronic trading algorithms for government bonds and interest rate swaps. Responsibilities include developing statistical and machine learning models for alpha signal research, pricing, hedging, and risk management, as well as building tools for performance tracking and effective monitoring of algorithms and models.

• Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python; experience with q/kdb+ and Java is a plus.
• Experience in quantitative research, particularly alpha signal research.
• Ability to translate trading ideas and business requirements into well-defined quantitative problems and deliver solutions iteratively.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders, including traders, sales, strats, technology, and risk management teams.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technology teams to coordinate development and production delivery.
• Self-motivated, rigorous, and tenacious, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, with knowledge of fixed income instruments, government bonds, and/or interest rate swaps.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or engineering. Relevant academic research experience is a plus.

This role is deemed as a Certified role and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
