Accounts Assistant

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a supportive finance team in a varied role offering exposure to sales ledger, purchase ledger, reporting and month-end accounting activities.

Your new role Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of customer billing activities as well as supporting a range of finance processes across the wider team.

This is a varied position that offers excellent exposure to both transactional finance and month-end accounting, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their finance experience in a dynamic business environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Calculating customer charges and raising accurate sales ledger invoices Investigating and resolving invoicing and customer account queries Supporting month-end processes, including journal postings and accrual calculations Producing and distributing regular financial and operational reports Processing supplier invoices and assisting with purchase ledger activities Providing finance support to an associated business, including sales ledger, purchase ledger and month-end tasks Assisting with the preparation of monthly finance packs Supporting year-end activities, internal audits and financial process improvement projects Providing flexible support across the finance team as business needs require What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you will have previous experience within a finance, accounts or highly numerate administrative role.

You will also possess:

Experience with in sales ledger, purchase ledger, accounts administration or a similar finance function Good Microsoft Excel skills, including confidence working with spreadsheets and formulas Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload A proactive and accountable approach with a willingness to identify improvements Professional communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team A customer-focused approach and strong problem-solving abilities Applications are welcomed from candidates who are AAT qualified, currently studying AAT, or looking to commence their AAT studies with employer support.
