Hybrid Value, Associate

Location: Greater London

Position Overview Hybrid Value is one of Apollo’s high-growth flagship strategies with $13bn AUM and forms part of the firm’s broader equity ecosystem. It formally integrates Apollo’s market leading Private Equity and Opportunistic Credit franchises to capitalize on market challenges and misunderstood risk/reward situations to provide debt and equity solutions globally across asset classes, industries, and geographies. Investment opportunities generally fall within “the riskier end of credit and on the safer end of equity”.

The Associate will work as part of the Hybrid Value team on all stages of the investment and ongoing portfolio monitoring processes. In this role, the candidate will focus on Hybrid Value’s three core strategies: (i) structured equity , (ii) capital solution financings, and (iii) non-control stressed/distressed across both primary and secondary markets. The Associate will be responsible for financial modelling and analysis, company and industry research, portfolio management, and idea generation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide analytical and project support for all investment-related activities including idea generation, evaluation, execution,and ongoing portfolio monitoring/management

Manipulate company and industry data to identify statistical trends and run performance analytics

Forecast business performance by building multi-scenario financial models

Run sensitivity analyses to identify quantitative impact on performance under various stress tests

Conduct deep company and industry research

Develop investment committee memoranda and materials with senior team members

Assist the team with additional ad hoc projects

Qualifications & Experience2+ years of relevant work experience including at least one year in investment banking and/or principal investing; M&A,Restructuring, and/or Leveraged Finance experience strongly preferred

Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate institution with a record of academic achievement

Strong modelling, analytical, valuation, and problem-solving skills

European language skills preferred

Genuine interest in both equity and credit investing and ability to analyse upside and downside risks

Demonstrates strong investment judgment by ability to identify potential risks and find solutions to roadblocks throughout all stages of a deal Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Strong interpersonal skills to support communication with external counter parties
