Pensions Administrator - Temporary

£17-19 per hour | Long-Term Ongoing Temporary Assignment | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Pensions Administrator looking for a long-term temporary opportunity where your knowledge and attention to detail will really make a difference?

We are currently seeking a capable and detail-focused Pensions Administrator to join a busy team on an ongoing temporary basis
, starting immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid pensions administration experience who enjoys working with data, calculations and member enquiries, and who takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

About the Role

You will provide day-to-day administration across active, deferred and pensioner members
, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within agreed timescales and quality standards.

You will also be responsible for responding to a range of member and pensioner enquiries, maintaining accurate records and supporting the wider Pensions Management Team with ongoing administration and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out day-to-day administration for active, deferred and pensioner members, including calculations and member record maintenance.

  • Process AVCs, new joiners, opt-outs, refunds, transfers, retirements and retirement quotations
    .

  • Manage pensioner administration, including adding and ceasing members on pensioner payroll, pension increases, tax queries and providing information to the DWP.

  • Process and administer deaths in service, death in deferment and death in retirement
    .

  • Deal with tracing members, returned correspondence and reclaiming overpaid pension instalments following a member's death.

  • Process commutation of pensions in payment, mortality exercises, bank changes, address updates and powers of attorney.

  • Handle telephone, online, written and face-to-face enquiries, providing clear and accurate information within agreed timescales.

  • Refer complex cases to the Team Leader where appropriate.

  • Process and update individual and bulk member records using DB and DC interfaces.

  • Produce relevant calculations, documentation and standard system reports.

  • Verify documentation and calculations in line with internal, actuarial and legal guidance.

  • Support reconciliation and data cleansing exercises.

  • Ensure member data is maintained to a high level of accuracy and within agreed deadlines.

  • Process incoming post and emails promptly, including scanning, recording and filing documentation.

  • Support pre- and post-implementation activity relating to member communications, including statements, web communications and pension increases.

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as required by the Pensions Management Team.

About You

We are looking for someone with previous pensions administration experience who is confident working with detailed member records, calculations and pension processes.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong pensions administration experience across active, deferred and/or pensioner members.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

  • Good numerical and analytical skills.

  • The ability to manage a high volume of administration while working to deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A good understanding of relevant pensions legislation, HMRC guidance and Scheme Rules
    .

  • Strong IT and systems skills, with the ability to work confidently with databases and member administration systems.

  • A professional and helpful approach when dealing with member enquiries.

  • The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team.
