Is the next step in your career atSMBC Group EMEA? The Financial Crime Management Group (FCMG) is looking for an Associate to join our Analytics Team to support the day-to-day operation of financial crime transaction monitoring and reporting capabilities, acting as a first point of contact for operational queries and issues. Produce and reconcile management information and analytical outputs while coordinating activities across financial crime teams and data sources.
Essentials of the Role
- Provide first-line support for system queries, access requirements and operational issues, escalating where appropriate.
Produce accurate reporting, management information, reconciliations and supporting evidence.
Coordinate effectively across internal stakeholders, external vendors and multiple financial crime work streams.
Candidate Requirements - Strong analytical and data literacy skills, with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies and discrepancies.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, supported by strong Word, PowerPoint and written communication skills. - Proactive, organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage deadlines and work collaboratively across multiple systems and teams.

The Financial Crime Management Group (FCMG) helps protect SMBC by strengthening the systems, rules, controls and analysis that support financial crime risk management across EMEA. The team focuses on Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions, Fraud and Customer Due Diligence, ensuring detection frameworks remain effective, risk-aligned and continuously improving.
FCMG plays a critical role in SMBC EMEA’s First Line of Defence (1
LoD). The Rules & List Management Utility (R&LMU) manages Financial Crime (FC) controls across key domains—Transaction Monitoring (TM), Sanctions, and Fraud—by maintaining and optimising automated detection systems. This includes rule design, configuration, and tuning to align with SMBC’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements across EMEA.
