About your role:

As a Credit Risk Analyst / Senior Credit Risk Analyst, you'll play a key role in protecting and enabling one of Europe's leading energy trading businesses.

Working closely with Trading, Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Finance and Legal teams, you'll help shape credit strategy, assess complex transactions, manage counter party risk and contribute to the ongoing digital transformation of Credit Risk.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine strong credit analysis expertise with exposure to innovative risk modelling, data-driven decision making and automation initiatives across a global trading organisation.

We're open to considering candidates at both Credit Risk Analyst and Senior Credit Risk Analyst level. The final title and package will reflect your experience & technical expertise.

Location:

Park House, Marble Arch, London (hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office). The role also includes occasional travel to other Centrica Energy locations, including Aalborg, Denmark.

What you’ll be doing :

Credit Risk Management

  • Conduct detailed financial and counter party assessments across a portfolio of trading counter parties.
  • Maintain and monitor counter party credit ratings, limits and risk appetite frameworks.
  • Monitor current and forward credit exposures across traded products and structured transactions.
  • Support commercial decision-making by providing timely credit risk analysis and recommendations.
  • Review transaction structures and identify appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Advise on collateral requirements and contribute to the negotiation of credit provisions within trading agreements.
  • Produce and review management information and credit risk reporting.
Driving Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with Quantitative Risk and Quantitative Analytics teams to support the development of innovative credit risk models and tools.
  • Review and challenge model outputs to ensure they remain robust, accurate and commercially relevant.
  • Support governance, controls and documentation for credit risk models and associated processes.
  • Contribute to the ongoing digitalisation and automation of Credit Risk reporting and decision-making.
  • Work closely with technology teams to develop user-friendly solutions that improve efficiency, transparency and risk oversight.
What we’re looking for:

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Credit Risk within commodity trading, energy trading, investment banking or financial markets.
  • Knowledge of energy and commodity markets, including power and gas.
  • Strong understanding of counter party credit assessment, financial statement analysis and risk management principles.
