Financial Controller

Membership organisation | London (hybrid) | Up to £70,000 p/a

We are partnering with a leading trade association in their search for a new Financial Controller.

The successful applicant will oversee all accounting and treasury operations, providing insight to senior management and delivering strong financial control, high-quality forecasting and compliant reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage treasury activity, including cashflow forecasting, cash management policies and treasury risk
• Lead and develop the Finance team and oversee day-to-day accounting, including revenue recognition, credit control, supplier payments and bank accounts
• Lead budgeting and forecasting, producing monthly and annual reporting on results, trends and variances
• Prepare the statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislation
• Manage tax compliance and oversee outsourced payroll, pension administration and insurance
• Maintain strong financial controls and document accounting policies and processes
• Continuously seek to improve accounting processes and systems
• Act as business partner to budget holders, supported by the management accountant
• Contribute to strategic planning and business projects
• Membership organisation background required - e.g. trade association, charity
• Qualified accountant
• Treasury management experience, including cashflow forecasting and developing cash management policies
• Proven track record of leading and developing a finance team
• Experience developing financial policies and procedures, with strong risk and control experience

Package

Up to £70,000 depending on experience, annual bonus, pension and hybrid working.
