Tax Underwriter

My client is looking for a tax lawyer to join its specialist underwriting team, assessing complex tax risks arising from M&A transactions and helping businesses get deals done with confidence. This is an opportunity to move from advising on tax risk to making commercial decisions about it.

Combining legal expertise with analytical thinking and commercial judgement, you’ll play a key role in evaluating risks and structuring insurance solutions for complex transactions.

• Analyse tax opinions, due diligence and transaction structures to assess potential tax exposures.
• Underwrite tax risks, making informed decisions on coverage, policy terms and pricing.
• Work closely with brokers, clients, law firms and tax advisers to structure tailored insurance solutions.
• Apply your legal expertise to real-world commercial decisions and complex M&A transactions.
• Build relationships across the legal, private equity and insurance markets.

A qualified lawyer with a strong tax background who enjoys complex technical work but wants greater commercial exposure. You’ll bring sharp analytical skills, sound judgement and the confidence to engage with sophisticated clients and advisers.

Experience in tax insurance or underwriting is not essential. We’re looking for someone with the technical foundations, commercial curiosity and ambition to build a career in a specialist and growing area of insurance.
