The Role We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. Working closely with the wider Finance team, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of our day-to-day finance operations, ensuring financial records are accurate, processes are completed efficiently and reporting is delivered to a high standard. You will support a range of transactional finance activities, including accounts payable, VAT preparation, reconciliations and month-end processes.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail and is comfortable working in a hands-on environment where teamwork, organisation and a proactive approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities Support accounts payable processes, including supplier invoice processing, payment preparation and supplier account administration. Assist with VAT return preparation, supporting analysis and reconciliations. Support routine daily, weekly and monthly finance processes and reporting. Maintain accurate accounting records and complete balance sheet and other account reconciliations as required. Support month-end processes, ensuring financial information is accurate and deadlines are met.

Provide general finance administration and financial analysis as required. Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and operational teams to maintain efficient processes and support the wider business. Skills & Requirements Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar transactional finance role. A good understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations and basic accounting principles. Strong numeracy skills, with confidence using Excel, financial systems and working with financial data.

Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and accurate approach to maintaining financial records. Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. A proactive, hands-on approach, with the confidence to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities. A collaborative team player who communicates effectively and builds positive working relationships across Finance and operational teams. Experience supporting month-end processes and VAT preparation would be beneficial.

An AAT qualification, or studying towards AAT or an equivalent accounting qualification, would be advantageous but is not essential. Our Benefits Competitive salary above market rate
