Investment Analyst

Are you an investment professional with strong analytical skills and an interest in portfolio management, investment research and financial markets?

At Pool Re, we’re looking for an Investment Analyst to support our Head of Investments in managing the company’s investment portfolio. This is a great opportunity to gain broad exposure across portfolio monitoring, manager and asset class research, investment strategy and governance, while contributing to investment decision-making across the organisation.

• Monitoring portfolio performance, risk metrics and exposures, and preparing regular analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
• Supporting the assessment of portfolio positioning against strategic asset allocation and risk parameters
• Researching external investment managers, funds and asset classes within Pool Re’s investment risk appetite
• Supporting investment manager due diligence and ongoing oversight, including reviewing manager reports, performance data and ESG disclosures
• Preparing materials for investment manager review meetings
• Preparing investment proposals, briefing notes and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Supporting strategic asset allocation reviews through data gathering, modelling and comparative analysis
• Contributing to the development and refinement of investment policies, guidelines and risk frameworks
• Producing clear and concise investment reporting for senior management, the Investment Committee and Board
• Working closely with Actuarial, Finance and Risk colleagues to ensure investment insights support wider business planning
• Maintaining clear and accurate documentation of investment research, analysis and decisions

• Experience in investment analysis, asset management, insurance investments or a related financial field
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly
• Proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel, Clearwater, Bloomberg or similar platforms
• Ability to work independently within a small team and manage multiple priorities
• Progress towards CFA, IMC or a similar professional qualification

• Experience working within the investment function of an insurance company
• Experience working with external investment managers or multi-asset portfolios
• Understanding of ESG integration and sustainability-related investment considerations
