Smith & Brock is a London fresh produce wholesaler with a turnover of around £38 million, supplying restaurants, hotels, caterers and food businesses across the city. We are part of the Bees & Honey Group and hold BRCGS AA certification. We are growing, fast-paced and close-knit, good commercial decisions make a visible difference here.
We are looking for a sharp, commercially driven Commercial Manager to own pricing across our business: someone who doesn’t just work with numbers, but truly understands what drives them.
Fresh produce is one of the most volatile markets there is. Costs shift daily, driven by weather, seasons, currency, supply chain disruption and global market forces. Pricing is not a static exercise: it is a live, consequential decision that directly affects our margins, our customer relationships and our competitiveness. You will see a cost move, immediately understand what it means for pricing across our diverse customer base, and act on it.
This is not a back-office analysis role. You will own pricing at Smith & Brock: running the weekly and monthly pricing cycle, acting on cost movements, and making day-to-day pricing decisions. You will challenge our Sales and Procurement teams with data-led insight and take the initiative to drive better outcomes without waiting to be asked.

- Monitor cost movements and act on them quickly, understanding the downstream effect on margins and profitability
- Challenge Sales and Procurement with data, hold the commercial line and bring solutions when margins are under pressure
- Analyse pricing performance by customer, product and channel, turn insight into action
- Lead on tender and new business pricing
- Own intercompany pricing across the Bees & Honey Group

- 3-6 years in a pricing, commercial finance or analytical role, ideally fresh produce, food wholesale, FMCG or a similarly fast-moving environment
- Instinctive understanding of cost and margin dynamics, and the ability to translate cost movements into pricing decisions fast
- Commercially courageous, you can challenge peers with data, hold your ground, and remain a trusted collaborator
- Advanced Excel;
Power BI or similar is a strong advantage - Proactive, fast-moving, and owns their work
- Weekly allocation of fresh produce at market price
- 30% discount at Sylva Café
- An extra day’s holiday on your birthday
- Earned Wage Access
- Refer-a-friend bonus scheme
