Our Corporate Affairs team leads the way in shaping how we engage with governments, parliamentarians, communities and regulators. We drive purposeful, high‑impact engagement to help secure the future of SMR deployment in the UK and internationally.

We’re looking for a
** Government Affairs Adviser
** to support our Government & Corporate Affairs team and play a key role in strengthening our political engagement. In this pivotal role, you’ll help shape policy thinking, lead parliamentary monitoring, and represent Rolls‑Royce SMR to political stakeholders.
** We’ll need you to:
*** Lead daily political monitoring across Parliament, Government, regulators and local authorities, ensuring the business has clear insight on policy, legislation and regulatory developments.
* Develop high‑quality briefing materials, talking points and executive summaries for senior leaders, including for Ministerial meetings and international engagement.
* Support our political engagement programme with MPs, officials, community groups and site‑based stakeholders – helping to plan meetings, round tables and events that drive meaningful impact.
* Build strong working relationships across the business, collaborating with Corporate Affairs and Business Development on UK and international opportunities.

You’ll bring a collaborative mindset, sharp political awareness and first‑class communication skills — allowing you to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.
** You’ll bring:
*** Experience working in government affairs, public policy or political communications — whether in Parliament, a think tank, an MP’s office, an advocacy organisation or a similar environment.
* Strong understanding of parliamentary processes and how policy making is shaped within UK Government and local authorities.
* Demonstrable experience leading political monitoring, including tracking legislation, regulatory updates and relevant developments.
* Skilled stakeholder engagement, with the ability to represent an organisation confidently and credibly to political audiences.

This role can is based in London, with hybrid working. Occasional travel to Warrington, Derby, Manchester, Westminster and stakeholder locations may be required.

We anticipate a salary of £42,000 - £55,150 dependent on the skills, values, and knowledge you bring.
