Inspection Officer Ealing/hybrid £52,194- £54,267 About the Role
The Commissioning Alliance delivers a pan-London housing standards & inspection service which regularly inspects Temporary Accommodation, focusing on Bed & Breakfasts and Studio Apartments which are used to house vulnerable people/families.
The aim of the service is to ensure quality across the sector and to ensure the standard of accommodation meets minimum requirements. The Service is currently used and supported by 30 of the 33 London Boroughs and is delivered by the Commissioning Alliance.
The StS Inspection Officer’s role is to inspect TA properties and work with accommodation providers to ensure that property conditions and standards are improved, maintained, and award a StS Grade to the London-wide agreed standard. The purpose of the service is to ensure that properties are safe and suitable for occupation by homeless families and vulnerable individuals. Officers are expected to develop and maintain relationships with Local Authorities and Accommodation Providers.
AboutYou
- Applicants should have experience of inspecting properties, including HMOs.
- Have an excellent knowledge of management standards including the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Candidates will be expected to travel within London to undertake property inspections in addition to other duties from an Ealing council office or from home.
- Candidates should be in possession of a full driving licence.
- Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health approved by the CIEH Environmental Health Registration Board, or at least 2 years relevant experience working in a Local Authority Private Sector Housing Service
- Recognised HHSRS Assessors training Certificate or qualification
