Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.
Job DescriptionYou’ll join Marie Curie’s Policy & Public Affairs England team, part of the Research, Policy & Public Affairs directorate. The team works to influence national, regional and local decision-makers to improve the care and support available to people living with a terminal illness and those closest to them. Working closely with colleagues across research, caring services, campaigns and public affairs teams across all four UK nations, you’ll help build on this momentum and influence the future of end-of-life care.
As Local Public Affairs Officer, you’ll help ensure that palliative and end-of-life care remains a priority for local decision-makers across England. You’ll build relationships with politicians, Integrated Care Systems, local authorities and partner organisations, using evidence, insight and compelling communications to influence policy and practice. Your work will help drive local change, reduce inequalities and ensure more people receive the care and support they need at the end of life.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building partnerships, analysing complex issues and turning evidence into meaningful influence.
