Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our busy Housing service on a nine‑month fixed‑term contract. In this role, you will undertake a comprehensive review of the Council’s housing register, ensuring all household records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with the Council’s Allocations Policy and housing legislation. You will assess applications, update records, and provide clear guidance to applicants, handling enquiries and correspondence efficiently across telephone, email, written communication, interviews, and occasional home visits.

About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic Lettings and Rehousing service, working alongside experienced officers committed to delivering a high‑quality, customer‑focused housing service. The team focuses on managing housing allocations and supporting residents through the housing process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance at all stages.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience in housing allocations, housing register management, or social housing services, along with strong administrative and customer service skills. You should have excellent communication skills, be able to engage effectively with a wide range of customers and stakeholders, and possess strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing or case management systems.

Organisation, prioritisation, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy are essential. The role requires both independent and teamwork abilities, sound judgement, and the ability to interpret information in line with Council policies and procedures.
