The Built Environment is responsible for the delivery of a range of construction, highways and operational services for the City of London, including the construction of Street Scene Projects, the maintenance of the public highway and its associated infrastructure, the enforcement of various duties under the Highways Act, the management of street works, the management of both on and off street parking, and traffic management.
We currently havethree
Representations and Appeals Officer posts opportunity within the Parking Ticket Office,35hours per week,Monday to Friday.
The City of Londonis responsible for parking and traffic enforcement within the Square Mile. Parking enforcement supports the City’s aims for parking compliance, traffic management, health and safety and a cleaner environment.
The main purpose of the role is to carry out the processing of circa
110,000 Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued in the City each year, total income £8M. This involves ensuring that all correspondence,payment sand unpaid debts are processed in accordance withthe law, the City’s financial regulations, policies, and in a way thatmaintainsthe reputation of the City andin accordance withthe principles of Comprehensive Performance Assessment.
The core duties of the post are to respond to basic challenges arising from PCNs and to deal personally with letters andphonecalls. Assess routine claims from motorists and hire companies who nominate other parties as being liable for a PCN. To deal with administrative tasks and to meet individual and group targets asidentifiedthrough the departmental appraisal system.
Candidates should have excellent communication and organisational skills and experience of working in a busy office, preferably with experience of dealing with difficult customers. Team workand interpersonal skills are essential requirements for this post. Proficient in Microsoft Office, you will be able to manage priorities effectively and have commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
