Role
Summary:
The Sustainability & Emissions Standards Manager will lead the development and alignment and governance of sustainability and emissions reporting policy, standards and assurance frameworks across LCCC schemes.
Working closely with DESNZ, industry stakeholders and internal delivery teams, the role is responsible for shaping policy positions, developing aligned sustainability standards and reporting methodologies, and ensuring sustainability requirements are practical, proportionate and capable of being effectively implemented, governed and assured.
The role acts as LCCC's lead subject matter expert on sustainability standards and emissions reporting, providing strategic leadership across policy development, technical standard-setting and implementation activities, whilst supporting the development of organisational capability and influencing sustainability policy and best practice across government and industry.
Key Responsibilities Policy and Standards- Lead the development and evolution of sustainability and emissions reporting policy, standards, methodologies and governance arrangements across current and future schemes.
- Advise DESNZ and other stakeholders on policy development, ensuring requirements are deliverable, proportionate and aligned with government objectives.
- Drive consistency and alignment across sustainability frameworks and reporting requirements wherever possible, reducing duplication and improving effectiveness.
- Monitor emerging regulation, policy and industry developments, ensuring LCCC remains at the forefront of sustainability standards and reporting.
- Act as LCCC's lead authority on sustainability standards, emissions reporting, carbon accounting and associated compliance for generators, producers and emitters across current and future schemes.
- Own and continuously develop the Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard whilst identifying opportunities to own and influence other sustainability and compliance frameworks.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, building organisational capability in sustainability and emissions reporting, with a view to future line management responsibilities as work areas develop.
- Lead the design and development of Standard reporting methodologies and governance frameworks for new and evolving sustainability requirements.
- Work with delivery teams to ensure sustainability requirements are designed to support effective compliance, assurance and operational delivery.
- Support the implementation and operationalisation of first-of-a-kind and complex sustainability reporting requirements, including the Low Carbon Hydrogen Standard and future schemes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to DESNZ and LCCC's lead adviser on sustainability and emissions reporting matters with industry participants and delivery partners.
- Represent LCCC in consultations, technical working groups, industry forums and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Contribute to external guidance, publications and thought leadership activities that strengthen LCCC's reputation as a trusted authority on sustainability standards and emissions reporting.
