Principal Housing Enforcement Officer

South East London | Hybrid

55–£60 per hour

3-Month Rolling Contract | ASAP Start

We are seeking an experienced Principal Housing Enforcement Officer to join a busy Private Sector Housing Enforcement team.

The role will focus on improving standards in the private rented sector and taking enforcement action against poor property conditions and non-compliant landlords.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake HHSRS and HMO inspections
.
Investigate housing conditions, overcrowding, damp & mould and complex complaints.
Serve statutory notices and undertake formal enforcement action.
Investigate unlicensed properties and licensing breaches.
Manage cases from inspection through to resolution.
Prepare enforcement documentation and maintain accurate case records.
Work with landlords, tenants and partner agencies.
Essential Experience
Strong Private Sector Housing Enforcement experience.
HHSRS and HMO inspection experience.
Good knowledge of the Housing Act 2004
.
Experience serving statutory notices.
Ability to independently manage complex enforcement cases.

Desirable:

CPNs, prosecution work, court/tribunal experience and licensing enforcement.
