Job Description Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer – 5 Month ContractContract: 5 Month Contract
Working Pattern: Hybrid Working – 2 Days Office-Based Per Week
SummaryJoin our dynamic Housing Service team as a Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer on a 5-month contract. This role is pivotal in supporting households at risk of homelessness by preventing evictions, securing temporary accommodations, and collaborating with residents, landlords, and accommodation providers. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving positive housing outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate with households facing eviction to prevent homelessness.
- Arrange and manage temporary accommodation placements and transfers.
- Collaborate with landlords, accommodation providers, and partner agencies to secure suitable housing solutions.
- Ensure accommodation placements are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.
- Provide support and guidance to vulnerable households.
- Manage a busy caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and update housing management systems.
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused service consistently.
Requirements:
- Experience in Housing, Homelessness, Temporary Accommodation, Property Management, or a similar customer-focused environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced service.
- Proven experience in building relationships with residents, landlords, and external partners.
- Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals and households.
- Strong administrative and case management skills.
- Proficiency in using databases and case management systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Local Authority housing experience.
- Knowledge of homelessness legislation and temporary accommodation processes.
- Experience working with private landlords and accommodation providers.
- 5 Month Contract
- Hybrid Working – 2 Days Office-Based
