The Climate & Transport service leads the Council’s work to deliver this ambition through climate strategy, clean energy delivery, environmental resilience, air quality improvement and transport decarbonisation. The Climate Policy Officer role sits within the Climate & Energy directorate and supports the development and delivery of the Council’s climate related policies, strategies and action plans. The role works closely with the Climate Strategy Manager and the Climate Policy Lead, as well as colleagues across clean energy, engagement, environmental resilience and transport.

This is a delivery focused policy role, supporting the development of evidence based policies, programme activity and governance processes that contribute to the Council’s climate, net zero and air quality objectives. The post offers the opportunity to build experience across a range of climate related disciplines while developing core policy, analysis and stakeholder engagement skills within a local government context.
