Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are recruiting an exciting new role within Warmer Homes London (WHL), a partnership between the Mayor of London and London Councils established to make Londoners’ homes healthier, greener and more affordable to heat.

WHL works with local authorities and housing associations across the capital to accelerate the delivery of high-quality retrofit programmes, helping residents reduce energy bills, improve comfort and cut carbon emissions. Through London’s Warm Homes:
Social Housing Fund Strategic Partnership, WHL is supporting the delivery of £78 million of government funding to improve the energy efficiency of thousands of social homes across London.

The Retrofit Delivery Programme Officer will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, initially supporting the 26 members of London’s Warm Homes:
Social Housing Fund Wave 3 Strategic Partnership to deliver retrofit measures across social housing at an unprecedented scale.

You will be a key operational contact, working with Local Authorities and Housing Associations to help overcome delivery challenges, maximise grant funding, share learning and adopt best practice across the Partnership.

You will support programme monitoring, performance management and stakeholder engagement activities, helping members navigate delivery risks and ensuring programmes remain on track to achieve their objectives.

Whilst initially focused on London’s Warm Homes:
Social Housing Fund Strategic Partnership, the role will also support the development and delivery of wider pan-London retrofit programmes as Warmer Homes London continues to grow.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have knowledge of retrofit, sustainability, energy efficiency or climate-related initiatives, ideally within a housing or built environment context. You will have strong stakeholder management skills, excellent organisational abilities and the confidence to work collaboratively across a complex partnership environment.

You will be motivated by the opportunity to help deliver large-scale retrofit programmes that improve residents’ homes, tackle fuel poverty and support London’s transition to net zero.

About The Company

Warmer Homes London is a new organisation designed to make Londoners’ homes greener, healthier and more affordable to heat by being more energy efficient. It is funded by the boroughs, the Mayor of London and London Councils. This new initiative is set to forge bold new partnerships, working with all levels of government, as well as with housing associations, builders, community energy groups, and training organisations.

Warmer Homes London will deliver its mission by:

  • Working together: we will overcome systemic barriers to change the fragmented approach towards retrofitting social and low-income private housing
  • Providing the data insights: we will drive better value for public money and turbo-charge efforts to make London’s homes warmer at scale and at pace
  • Making Londoners’ homes more comfortable all year round: enabling practical measures to be installed by suppliers, such- wall insulation that keep heat in; heat pumps that are cleaner and cheaper to run; and solar panels giving clean renewable energy.

London Councils is the collective of London local government, the 32 boroughs and the City of London Corporation. They come together through London Councils to work in collaboration to deliver their shared ambitions for London and Londoners.

Through lobbying, collaboration and partnership, we ensure the voice of the London boroughs are united, and heard at a local, regional and national level.

We also run a number of services on behalf of the boroughs including the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and Health Emergency Badge (HEB) and London Lorry Control Scheme (LLCS).
