Job Summary We are looking for a Policy Advisor to join the BFI’s Policy & Public Affairs team on a fixed term basis until September 2027.

Job Description To pull together and analyse evidence to respond to government requests, consultations and select committee calls for evidence as they relate to the UK screen sector. To work with colleagues to support the BFI's work as the UK National Lottery distributor for film, including preparations for the BFI's National Lottery funding plan for . To compile and summarise evidence and BFI positions for briefings and policy documents.

To support the policy team to develop and provide policy advice on a range of issues key to the cultural and economic impact of the screen sectors. To assist in creating project plans and timelines. Supporting the BFI's input into fiscal events. To develop strong collaborative relationships with other key BFI directorates, include working collaboratively with the BFI's Research and Statistics Unit to use their data and research to develop evidence-based policy positions.

Job Requirements

Experience of working in a policy making, government or regulatory environment or equivalent. An understanding of the UK screen sector and the wider cultural and creative industries. A proven track record of promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion. Demonstrable experience of building and delivering key evidence-based policy positions, and advocating for them with a wide range of stakeholder.
