Salary: The starting salary is £36,228, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £33,219 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £35,541. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job SummaryInformation compliance is essential in ensuring that we protect sensitive police information, yet still also allow the public to understand the important rolethat Met Police officers and staff play in protecting our communities.
This isan exciting opportunity to enhance a newly created role within the Information Access Team (IAT) in the Compliance and Assurance (C&A) Pillar within Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ).
The Unit manages Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. There is also a requirement toassistwith
Rightof Access Request (ROAR) / Subject Access Requests (SAR) queries. Our remit encompasses the Met’s Specialist Operations (SO) Command Units - Aviation Policing, CTPL,PaDP,RaSPand Protective Security & Operations, but may also include other MPS units, as well as the CT Policing Network.
Your primary role as part of the team will be to provide vital administrative supportto the Senior and Information Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of these requestsallowingstatutory deadlines to bemet. This will entail liaising regularly with these SO units and providing advice and guidance to ensure compliance, where necessary
Therefore, it is expected that you will have agoodunderstanding of these Acts and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
This position provides a unique opportunity for the role holderto gain experience of SO and the wider CT Policing Network and also liaise with our external stakeholders. You will work closely with staff of all ranks and grades, in a fast-paced environment with good development prospects.
Key Tasks- Ensurethe FOIA and ROAR Excel databases are uptodateand all requests are recorded and responded to within the giventimeframe
- Monitor the unit mailbox to ensure requests areactionedpromptly.
- Validate requests by assessmentagainstlegal requirements.
- Identify requests, which may require an early resolution/completion.
- Conduct prior research on theCycFreedomdatabase or through web based searches for information that is already in the public domain.
- Liaise with applicants in writing and recording on the relevant systems.
- Followup requests to ensureinformationsoughtis received within the specifiedtimeframe.
- Act as apointof contact for stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Respond to queries or escalating where necessary.
- Provide guidance on FOIA and ROARs to officers and staff with supportofline management.
- Assist with the collation and preparation of historical records and files
- Arrange the team’smeetings and complete the minutes.
- Deputise for Information Manager
- Any other duties as directed by management
This role does not attract Shift Disturbance Allowance. If you are currently in a shift-working role, SDA should cease upon appointment to this job.
